Satellite Daydream

Creating a distraction from reality, a series of daydreams that transports us to different worlds.Through their music, the band intends to transport themselves and their listeners away from the present reality, to a place where they are able to control what they see, hear and feel — in a Satellite Daydream.

MEMBERS

Satellite Daydream (SD) is a four-piece Alternative/Indie Rock band managed by Cam Celestial. The band comprises of Bj, Zuriel, William, and Harvey, who have been close friends since high school. Despite going their separate ways during college, they reunited as a cover band with Vincent Bautista in 2018 for a High School Homecoming event organized by their Alma Mater, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong. After their first performance, the band continued to meet and practice music together. During this time Zuri busked in Eastwood and received invitations to play at events, where he brought the band together with Nicole Etrata, who joined as a vocalist for the said cover band.Unfortunately, the band had to stop playing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two years passed (2022), the band regrouped to play with Bj's quarantine demos. They spent a year practicing, refining Bj's demos, and arranging Zuri's songs after then deciding to form Satellite Daydream.Metroscene Mag hailed the band in a March 2023 article, declaring: "With their passion for music and unique sound, Satellite Daydream is a band to watch out for in the Philippine music scene." The band's journey escalated further when they inked a deal with PolyEast Records, one of the biggest and leading independent record labels in the Philippines in May 2024. Satellite Daydream was also featured in an exclusive article by INQUIRER.net’s InqPOP/POP! In November 2024.

Denisse (Debut Single)

La Balls (Recording Studio) - September 30, 2022

The band chose to focus on Denisse after struggling to make a decision. Transitioning from covers to original compositions, they aimed to establish a strong foundation for their musical journey. Bj's lyrics in this particular song emanated directly from the heart—simple yet imbued with warmth and passion. They opted for a song that wasn't technically challenging to play, ensuring it was easy for listeners to comprehend and connect with emotionally. With this song, the band wants their listeners to daydream, cherish, and appreciate their Denisse.Denisse, written by Bj Sarmiento.

Till We're Older

La Balls (Recording Studio) - January 27, 2023

After making their debut with Denisse, the band worked on crafting Till We're Older. This proved to be challenging as it was their first song created entirely from scratch. The song revolves around the theme of love, acknowledging its complexity. It explores the desire for an escape from the norms of modern love. The lyrics are about the beauty of a time when love involved exchanging letters rather than direct messages or any newfangled methods made to romanticize the internet. What you pictured about love growing up can be different from what you imagined, but it doesn't matter how close or far off it gets because the most exciting fantasy is growing older together with your partner and experiencing all of its' fantasies over and over.Till We're Older, written by Zuriel Ocampo.

Minamahal Kita

La Balls (Recording Studio) - May 04, 2023

The band played this song in all their past gigs, and interestingly, it stands out as one of their favorite pieces to play and rehearse among all the songs they've arranged. The heartfelt nature of the song draws from real experiences that Bj wrote some time ago. Infused with dreamy effects and synths, the band adopts a distinct guitar lead, incorporating elements of shoegaze and a slower tempo compared to their initial songs, emphasizing the narrative being sung. We all have or have yet to experience that fear of taking the first step. Missing the courage to seize opportunities, and to chase our dreams. But with Minamahal Kita, Satellite Daydream hopes that they can give you the little push that you need.Minahamal Kita, written by Bj Sarmiento.

Too Old Too Young

La Balls (Recording Studio) - January 27, 2024

The song got it's identity in every gig it was played and proceeded to record when the band thought it was finally ready. The past releases were all about love, but with this song the band worked on Zuri's piece that's about going through problems alone, the feeling of time slipping away, and the pressure of adulting. Despite the uncertainty about the future and the mysteries of where life is headed, there is an acceptance and comfort from the rain that downpours on the days of hardships and endeavors.Too Old Too Young, written by Zuriel Ocampo.

There will come a time when you meet someone who makes your heart flutter, igniting a desire to be part of their world. The feeling of being noticed and seen becomes a beautiful journey in itself, and that connection is often enough to make you happy. 'Iyong Mundo' captures this essence, inviting listeners to embrace the magic of love and the simple joys of connection. This is also their first song under PolyEast Records.Iyong Mundo, written by Bj Sarmiento.
